Addie "Lee" Cameron Stephenson, 76, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on November 15, 2023.  She was born on December 18, 1946 to Hugh Edwin and Fannie Harris Cameron in Roanoke Rapids, NC.  Lee attended Appalachian State University and studied teaching.  She worked for Wake County Social Services for 30 years before retiring to care for her local grandchildren.  She was a loving and caring person known for her servant heart and her apple cake. She enjoyed reading mystery novels, watching procedural dramas or the Hallmark Channel, and spending time with her family. She loved cooking for family and had a wonderful knack for tracking down hard to find gifts.

Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Elmon "Gene" Eugene Stephenson, Jr, her parents, her brother-in-laws Richard "Dick" Stephenson and David Stephenson, and sister-in-laws Maryella Cameron and Kathy Stephenson. Lee will be missed by her daughters, Marcie Schmidt and Shelley Gutierrez (Albert), grandchildren Joshua, Jared, Elena, Madie and Elijah and great granddaughter Hope.  Lee is also survived by her brother, Hugh Cameron, sister-in-laws Ellen Saunders (David), Kim Barbour (John), and Grace Stephenson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service celebrating and remembering Lee will be held at 1pm on Sat, November 25, 2023 at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington St, Raleigh.  The family will greet friends after the service and requests brightly colored attire for those attending Lee's homegoing celebration.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Transitions Lifecare NC or Emmanuel Baptist Church General Fund.
