Obituary of Alene Allen

Mrs. Alene Allen, a native of Wake County, went home to be with her Lord and Savior November 11, 2011. She was surrounded by her loving children as she entered her Heavenly Kingdom.

A Christian celebration of Mrs. Allen's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 in the Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Brian L. Powell, Senior Pastor of Raleigh First Church of the Nazarene where Mrs. Allen was a member for over 56 years and David L. Peoples, Jr., her beloved grandson of Red Lion, PA. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon and other times at Mrs. Allen's home, 304 Ortega Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.

Mrs. Allen was born December 2, 1929 to Sarah Hales Hall and Bernice Smith Hall. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Lee Peoples, Jr., her second husband, Eldon George Allen, five sisters and a brother.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her loving children: Patricia P. Peoples (Bobby), David L. Peoples, Sr. (Ruth) all of Raleigh, Robert L. "Bobby" Peoples (Kathy) of Graham, Janet P. Jackson (Ronnie) of Burlington, Dennis C. Peoples, Linda S. Peoples and Arthur "Ronnie" Peoples (Vickie) all of Raleigh. She is also survived by her sister, Polly Morton of California; seven grandchildren who were the delight of her life and five great grandchildren who brought her great joy in her later years.

Mrs. Allen's family expresses their sincere appreciation to Dr. Joshua Garriga for the exceptional medical care that he provided our mother over the years. We also thank Liberty Hospice and especially Regina Surles for the tender and compassionate care that was provided our mother during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Raleigh First Church of the Nazarene, 1329 Highway 70 West, Garner, NC 27529, Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607 or to Liberty Home Care and Hospice, 3200 Spring Forest Rd., Raleigh, NC 27616.

"Our mother is now in her heavenly home and knows joy, love, security, grace and peace from her Heavenly Father. All is well with our hero, our blessed mother and we praise God that she has crossed over the river and is at rest."
