Alexander Turner was born on April 9, 1946 in Delhi, Louisiana to Eather Green Turner and Leola Cleveland.

He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in the mid-1960s to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He began working at Central Telephone Company where he steadily advanced to a telecommunications engineering position. He was transferred to the corporate headquarters in Illinois in 1979.

In 1983 he accepted a position with Nortel Networks in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina where he was employed until his retirement in 2002.

Alex is survived by Bettye, his wife of 39 years and his children: Felicia White and her husband Eddie of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and their children Tameka and Edward III; Anthony Turner of Las Vegas, Nevada and his children, Mitchel, Anthony, Aaron and Ace; Yolanda (Kip) Wright of Atlanta, Georgia and her son Jerome Brown Junior; Cedric Turner of Elko, Nevada and his children T earra , Cavon and Sydney; A lexander Holland Turner and his wife Cassidy, and their children Carson, Oliver and Ryan. Two great-grandchildren Al auna and Ja'Marion will miss him.

Also surviving are his siblings Brenda Shelton, Bill Turner, Frances Jones, Linda Foster, Jackie Collins, Sharon Jackson o f Las Vega s, Nevada and Barbara Jackson o f Havelock, North Carolina. Special uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews will cherish his memory.

Also mourning his loss are his dear friends, the Blackson girls; Brenda, Patricia and Lila Mae whom he referred to as his "Bayou Sisters".

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Chiara Nash; brother , Barnett Fisher and sisters , Jean Watson and Marteal Beeput .

Alex enjoyed most sports and was an avid golfer – he was thrilled when Tiger Woods won his first tournament in five years.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Graham and his kind and caring staff at Waverly Hematology and Oncology. We wish we had the words to describe our gratitude for the care administered by the Earthly angels of Transitions.
