Obituary of Alfred Farmer

Alfred J. Farmer, Jr., 80, died Friday at Rex Hospital. He was born on March 12, 1933 in Baltimore, MD to Alfred J. Farmer and Emma Hindle Farmer who both preceeded him in death.

Alfred was a veteran in the US Coast Guard, played professional baseball for the Washington Senators and retired as a federal electrical contractor. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Cary and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was a very loving husband father and grandfather and was loved by everyone who knew him.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years , Barbara A. Farmer; nine children; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Montlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 am Saturday prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Mission's Fund at Good Hope Baptist Church, 6628 Good Hope Church Road, Cary, NC, 27519.
