Alonzo Laverne "Bud" Turner, age 91, passed away on July 14, 2022 in Sanford, NC. Bud was born in Coats, NC on December 4, 1930. Bud was predeceased by his parents, Alonzo Lee & Sarah Jane Williams Turner; and sisters: Iola Turner Talley, Rachel Turner Cheatham Hill, Evelyn Turner Ferguson, Madeline Turner Holloman, Dorothy Turner, Jenice Turner, Ruby Turner Harris, and Gilda Turner Blackmon.

Bud served his country as a military police officer in the US Air Force during the Korean War, a land surveyor, and an 18-wheel truck driver throughout the entire continental USA. He enjoyed growing African Violets, watching western TV shows, and WWE wrestling.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine Turner; son, L. J. Turner; granddaughter, Andrea Jo Turner; grandson, Adam Turner; and his sister, Carolyn Turner Johnson.  Visitation for family and friends will begin at 9:00 am, Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Montlawn Funeral Home, followed by a burial  beginning at 10:00 am at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh.
