Alvin Lavertt Hart, 58, of Raleigh, NC, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2019. He is predeceased by his father, Alvin Hart, and stepdaughter Herlina Halim. Alvin is survived by his wife, Annatta Hart, children Alvin Hart, Jr. (Rondi), of Nevada, and Tony Hamashita (Sherri), of California, mother Pauline Hannah and stepfather Roosevelt Hannah, of Georgia, and stepdaughter Fatima Halim, of Raleigh.
He is also survived by seven siblings: brothers Frederick Jenkins, of New York, Roosevelt Hannah, Jr., of Georgia, Brian Hannah (Kimberly), of Virginia, Jacob Hannah, of Raleigh, Milo Hannah (Rosalyne), of Raleigh, Jamal Hannah, of Florida and his sister Barbara Hannah, of Raleigh; six grandchildren Jonathan, Jarrell, and Jaylin, of Raleigh; Tony, Raymond, and Hannah, of California, and great-grandson Jonathan Jr.,of Raleigh. Alvin was the top graduate of his infantry training class and served his country in the Army. He loved to fish—especially at Bass Lake—and taught many children to fish at the lake for many years. If a person needed to go anywhere, no matter how far, Alvin would drive as long as they had a car and would feed him. He also enjoyed motorcycles.
Alvin will be remembered as a fun person, the life of the party, and was very caring toward children.
A gathering in memory of Alvin will be held on Wednesday, September 18, from 1 to 3 PM at Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC, with a memorial service to follow in the Montlawn Funeral Home chapel. Flowers and cards should be sent directly to the funeral home.
