Alvin was born February 2, 1937 to Gustav and Ruth Ruesch in Nutley NJ where he was raised.  A veteran of the Navy reserve he worked in NJ as a machinist before retiring and moving to North Carolina in 2007.

Alvin was preceded in death by Shirley, his loving wife of 60 years with whom he had 3 children, David (Lynn), Robin (Richard, deceased) and John (Kim), 6 grandchildren, 2 by marriage, 9 great-grandchildren and his sister Margot (David).

Al was a man that lived by example showing his children and grandchildren what it means to work hard, show loyalty, love unconditionally and taught them to consistently put God first in everything they will do. He enjoyed working outside, bowling, bike riding, going for walks, airport trips with his wife and grandchildren to watch the planes take off, and playing chess with his children and grandchildren.

Though we are saddened by his passing we still want to rejoice, for he has triumphantly returned to our Heavenly Father. Please join us on November 14th at 2 pm  as we celebrate his life through our Lord Jesus Christ at The Shepherd's Church, 6051 Tryon Road, Cary, NC  27518.
