IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Andres
Vico-Basilio
November 28, 1976 – July 10, 2020
Andres Vico Basilio was the eldest son of 9. He came to this country for an opportunity of a better life for himself, his siblings and his mother. At the young age of 13/14 he shouldered the responsibilities of a man, a man of the house. My father knew how important the word "family" is and he cherished every single one of us. His love for his family grew when he had my siblings and I, we were his treasures. I, Jonathan his oldest, his 2nd Andres Jr. a continuation of his name, and my baby sister Alondra his little princess. We were a testament to the love that started with a single chore of picking up a woman from the airport, yes My mother. Since their late teens they've been in a relationship and had 3 beautiful children. Almost 24 years together and even through all the rough patches they continued to love each other. Andres was the definition of hard work can achieve anything, and even though he came with nothing he built a business and taught several people the meaning of the word "work". My father was a strict man that argued with everyone but with good intentions and although he was stubborn he had a huge heart and always wanted the best for everyone. He was the life of the party, always the first to crack a joke, sip a beer, or start the dance offs. He absolutely loved life and the tried living to the fullest everyday with gratitude to God. His passion for the sea, and for fishing was unreal, he always called it his 2nd home. He would spend hours fishing and if he was traveling, he would spend back to back days fishing. In the short 23 years I was with him, I saw him become friends with everyone around and saw his family love him endlessly. After a short 43 years he left way to early, but although hes gone, he will never be forgotten because his soul remains with us, and my siblings and I are a perfect replica of the man, Andres Vico Basilio was, a man of the house.
