CARY, NC

Ann Cathey Roman (89) went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 20, 2021 after battling an extended illness.  She was born in Williamson County, TN on January 22, 1932 to John Daniel "Dee" Cathey and Lucille Tomlin Cathey.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Nadine Smithson.  She is survived by her husband of 73 years, John M Roman of Cary, NC, a daughter Peggi Bird (Michael) of Cary, NC, two grandsons, Morgan Stevenson of Cary, NC and Preston Stevenson of Raleigh, NC.

Ann and John married in 1948 while John was in the Air Force.  She traveled with him to numerous states and to Japan.  Ann worked for 30 years as an insurance Customer Service Representative for Ed Moore and Associates, Inc. and later for Charter Insurance Group, Inc.

Ann was a dedicated member of Cary #366 Order of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron of the chapter and several other stations before becoming ill.  She also enjoyed attending church on Sundays at Salem Baptist Church.

Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who adored and spoiled her grandsons.  Her wonderful smile and kind demeanor will be missed by all who loved her.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 26 from 1:00-2:00pm at Montlawn Memorial Park, Funeral Home and Cremations.  A service will be held at 2:00pm with Pastor Craig Hardee officiating.  Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford or Salem Baptist Church.
