IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ann Bunn
Tripp
March 22, 1929 – May 26, 2022
ANN BUNN TRIPP
Ann Bunn Tripp, 93, died on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at home in Raleigh, NC, where she resided with her son, Roy Tripp, and daughter-in-law, Suzan.
Ann was born at her family home place in Wilson County, NC on March 22, 1929, to Thomas and Clarkey Bunn. Ann and her two younger brothers knew the heartache of losing their mother at a young and tender age, and meeting her mother was something Ann hoped for as she drew near the end of her life. Their grandmother, Bethania Wilson Bunn, lovingly raised Ann and her siblings. Later in life two half-brothers and five half-sisters would be born to their father and step-mother.
After graduating from Rock Ridge High School in Wilson, NC, in 1947, Ann moved to Raleigh to attend Hardbarger Business School. Just prior to graduation she met the man who would become her husband and soul mate, Hicks Randolph Tripp, whom she lovingly called "Tripp." He was a licensed custom homebuilder, a Veteran of World War II, honorably discharged as a Corporal from the United States Marine Corps.
Tripp and Ann were married on June 11, 1949. They made their home in Raleigh, NC, where they were blessed with three children, Judy, Gail, and Roy.
Though she worked outside the home in corporate office administration for several years, Ann loved being a homemaker. An excellent cook, Ann loved experimenting and perfecting recipes. Whether it was homemade ice cream, pies, cakes, candies or delicious meals, all were blessed who sat down at her table. She was also a very talented couturier with her own label for custom-made clothing while employed with Annette Johnson at Elegant Fabrique in North Hills from 1972 until 1982.
Of all the beautiful items Ann made by hand, none were as precious or as valued as the baby blankets she lovingly crocheted for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as babies of close family friends.
Described by her family and peers as trustworthy, kind, supportive, empathetic, loving, talented, and very special, she will be missed terribly.
The family would like to express great appreciation for all the loving caregivers with Transitions LifeCare that the Lord brought to Ann in her final months. Heather Floyd, Elaine Wiggins, and Alison McGee ~ Ann was greatly blessed by your tender care and loving compassion. Jaime Sargent, we greatly appreciate your love and expertise during her final month. Many thanks also to everyone who has called, sent cards, prayed for us, or brought us meals.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, H.R. Tripp, "Tripp," daughter, Gail Tripp, son-in-law, Mike Daniels, brothers E. T. Bunn and Willie Ray Bunn, Ann is survived by her daughter, Judy Daniels, of Raleigh, NC, and son, Roy Tripp (Suzan), of Raleigh, NC.
Ann is also survived by eight grandchildren: Cristy Gore Danielson (Roy), Jason Daniels (Melody), Kevin Daniels, Daniel Gore, Drew Daniels, Leigh Ann Daniels, Benjamin Tripp (Hannah), and Sydney Tripp Beach (Adam), and fifteen great-grandchildren: Christopher, Josh, Olivia, Spencer, Ashlynn, Riley, Shawn, Haley, Sina, Graylan, Sadie, Briggs, Laney, Crew, and Walker.
Arrangements are by Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC 27603, where all services will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 9:30 a.m., funeral at 11 a.m., with burial and graveside service to follow.
