Obituary of Anne Uhler
Anne Griel Uhler, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 7 at Waltonwood Senior Living Center in Cary where Anne resided. Anne's funeral will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, where she will rest beside her beloved husband.
A native of Lancaster, PA, Anne was born January 17, 1921, the daughter of the late Frank and Sara Griel. She was an elementary school teacher for over 40 years in the Alexandria, VA public schools. She loved children and teaching them so much that she substituted for many years after her retirement. Anne moved to Cary 13 years ago to be with her family. She made everyone she met feel special. As a result, she had many close friends who will miss her and will forever keep her in their hearts.
Mrs. Uhler is survived by her daughter, Liz Trevithick and her husband, Jim of Cary; two grandchildren, Kim Lorbacher and her husband, Scott of Apex, Chad Trevithick of Chicago, IL; two great grandchildren, Austin and Logan Lorbacher. She is also survived by a sister, Margaret Baird of Strongsville, OH. Mrs. Uhler was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Philip Garth Uhler.
