been diagnosed one month prior.
Anne was born on December 14, 1946 in Raleigh, NC to T. S. Ferree, Jr. and Mildred Clendenin. She
attended Broughton High School, Vardell Hall and Hardbarger Business College. She was a Dental Lab

On October 1, 1977 she married Rev. Dr. William J. Weisser. They raised one son, Chadwick.
Anne had a passion for making jewelry, birds, squirrels, plants, clothing and cats. She was happiest in her
creative periods and gardening. Her beloved cat Velcro stayed by her side for as long as she could
remain at home. Her most special passion was singing. She attended several vocal camps at
Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. She was a member and soloist of the Chancel Choir at
Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC where she grew up. She sang for countless
weddings, funerals and worship services. Many remember her singing "O Holy Night" every Christmas
Eve and "Were you there" from the balcony in complete darkness for the Maundy Thursday service. The
high point of her singing was when she sang the Pie Jesu with the Chancel Choir that sang the
publisher's premiere of "Requiem" from manuscript by John Rutter, with the composer conducting at
the Hinshaw Music Celebration in Chapel Hill in 1986 and also at Edenton Street UMC that same
weekend.
Anne was preceded in death by her father, her 100 year old mother Mildred, her baby brother, George
and her nephew, Robert Tovy. She is survived by her husband William; her son, Chadwick; her
grandson; Samuel and her older sister, Jane; her cousins, Pat Wessendorf, Marge DeMoudt , Rebecca
