Obituary of Annie Morrison

Annie Bell Medlin Morrison, 89, of Raleigh, passed away peacefully after many years of surgeries and declining health. She entered into Heavenly Glory Sunday morning, November 13, 2011.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Montlawn Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Jerry Stephenson, Pastor of Vandora Springs Free Will Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Montlawn Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

A native of Wake County, Annie was the daughter of Otho and Mary Harris O'Neal. She worked for many years with Winn Dixie Grocery Stores and retired in 1986. However, in her post retirement years, she continued a long tradition of taking care of family and friends as the needs arose, also sharing her delicious cooking, holiday celebrations and many other special gatherings.

Following Annie's failing health, she moved to Lee's long Term care and Assisted Living on Rock Service Station Road in Raleigh in March of 2001. The family wishes to thank the owners and staff for all the years of their wonderful care and most recently, the addition of Liberty Hospice.

She is survived by her cherished family; daughter, Marie Baker and husband David; son, David Medlin, Jr. and wife Janet; daughter in-law, Catherine Medlin (wife of her recently deceased son, Charles Medlin); her beloved grandchildren, Ray and wife Tammy, Keith and wife Michelle, John and wife Kelly, Tina, Jason and wife Kate, Mark and wife Caroline and Lynn; plus ten adorable great-grandchildren.

In addition to the passing of her youngest son Charles, she was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Lucy O'Neal; her first husband, John David Medlin (the father of her three children) and her late husband, Talmadge Lee Morrison.
