Archie Cravon Capps, 84 of Garner NC, passed away Sept 26, 2024, surrounded by family. Archie was born April 7, 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Archie Capps, his brother Edwin Capps, sister Betty Lou Johnson, and his wife Mary Capps. He is survived by his daughter Carson Atwood and her husband Aaron, his son Michael Capps and his wife Gretchen and their children, Mckenzie, Harrison, and
Parker, his sister Laura Rodrigues and husband Manny, and his sister Teresa Miller, and his sister-in-law Billie Capps.

Archie was raised on tobacco and cotton farms in Johnston County NC, where he attended Micro High School. He didn't know what the ocean was until after he graduated High School, which started a love of the waves. Any opportunity to be bodysurfing at sunrise or fishing from the coast or pier, he was there. He spent seven years in the Air Force and in 1965 started to work with Southern Bell. Upon retirement he spent many afternoons golfing or fishing with friends, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Archie was a Free Mason at Garner Lodge 701 and had received the Veteran's Emblem for his 50 years as a Master Mason.

Archie attended Hilltop Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina and welcomed everyone he met. He had a strong relationship with his faith and that created comfort in his journey until the end. To those who knew him as A.C., he enjoyed a good laugh, loved being outside and fellowship with anyone. He was a loyal and devoted person, and still cherished his beloved wife, Mary. He will be remembered as a son, brother, husband,
father, grandfather.
