Arthur William Steinhafel, age 53 of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, April 3rd
2022. Art was born in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, to Elaine (Callahan) and William Steinhafel.
While in school he worked at Bit-O-The-North Resort. He acquired many of his life and building
skills from his mentor and longtime friend and business partner. He graduated from Tomahawk
High School in 1987. Art attended University of Wisconsin- Stout, where he was a men's All-
American Athlete on the Pole Vault Crew in 1991 and earned his bachelor's degree in 1992. He
began his career at Trostel, Ltd., in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where he met his wife, Kathy
(Eppers). They were married November 9th, 1996.
Art continued his career path at Peachtree Doors and Windows in Gainesville, Georgia, then relocated to Mosinee, Wisconsin, with
Peachtree/SNE/ Weathershield. He then became the Central Vice President of Atrium Windows
and Doors in Dallas, Texas, followed by becoming the Senior Vice President of Sales for
PlyGem in Roanoke, Virginia. Art became President of the US Windows Group (PlyGem) and
relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina, (Cornerstone Building Brands).
Art was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. His family was the most
important thing to him. He was a leader that inspired and mentored many. He cared deeply for
his team, colleagues, and associates in business. Art touched all those who met him with his kind
and humble demeanor. His cabin on the lake brought him many years of happiness and great
memories. He enjoyed working on/restoring vehicles (especially with his son), was an avid gun
collector, and boat enthusiast.
Art is survived by his wife, Kathryn, three children, Alexis Adams, Austin Steinhafel (Madelyn),
Haley Steinhafel, his mother Elaine (Callahan) Steinhafel; his siblings Joellen (Phil) Lieck, Peter
(Rose) Steinhafel, Billie (Josh) Skubal, and Grant Voermans; three brothers-in-law, Kenneth
(Nancy) Eppers, Michael (Joanne) Eppers, Thomas (Dawn) Eppers; one grandson, Beau
Steinhafel.
Art is further survived by 21 nieces and nephews he adored, and other beloved family and
friends.
Memorial visitation for Arthur Steinhafel will take place on May 28th 2022, at Generations
Funeral Home and Crematory in Tomahawk, Wisconsin.
