Barbara Lou Charlton Allen, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on the morning of July 6, 2020. Barbara is the beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother of a large caring family. Her constant love and gracious, caring heart will be greatly missed by everyone that shared in her life. Barbara held unconditional love for her family, and always made everyone feel special. She is a true blessing from God and will be sorely missed until we all meet again in the kingdom of heaven. Mrs. Allen is predeceased by her mother and father, Kenneth O. Charlton and Pauline L. Charlton. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth James Allen of Willow Spring, N.C.; brother Kenneth Roger Charlton and wife Patricia Charlton of Temple, TX; children, daughter Polly Pamela Burton (deceased) and husband Raymond Burton of Raleigh, daughter Robyn Darlene Marshburn and husband Randy Marshburn of Morrisville, son Michael Joseph Allen and daughter-in-law Martha L. Smith of Angier, son Daniel Nathan Allen and daughter-in-law Lynda D. Byrd of Youngsville, daughter Margaret Elizabeth Stephan and husband Gerry Stephan of Holly Springs, son Benjamin Eric Allen and wife Wanda Jean Allen of Willow Spring; 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

First and foremost, Barbara loved God and her family; she was a loving sister, a loving wife, and a nurturing, caring mother. Her heart was full of love and pride for her children, grandchildren, and great children. She was skilled in art and painting, and a master of numerous crafts. She loved to be surrounded by her family and enjoyed the laughter and love that was shared by all. She instilled so much love in all of us, and always put her family above her own personal needs. She was an angel from God, and a blessing to us all. She will forever rest in our hearts, and in the presence of our Heavenly Father!

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Montlawn Funeral Home and Cremations, 2911 South Wilmington Street. The family will receive friends at an Open Visitation from 12:00pm – 1:00pm. A private service for the family will be conducted from 1:00pm – 2:00pm with a private graveside service to follow.
