Barbara Oldham O'Neal, 81, completed her earthly journey on October 29, 2017. She was a graduate of Kings Business College where she earned her Accounting Degree. She was a dedicated and devoted employee her entire life until she retired in 2011. Her accounting employment included Freeman Construction, Robuck Homes, Inc., Hunt Properties and working for the State of N.C. at Dorothea Dix Hospital. She served on the Board of SECU for 12 years as a proctor.

Barbara was the daughter of the late Grady J. Oldham and L.P. Oldham, and the sister of Herbert P. Oldham who predeceased her.

Barbara is survived by her devoted children and their spouses, Jeannie O'Neal Klas and husband Donald of Simpsonville, SC and Gregg Noble O'Neal and wife Martina of Monterey, Mexico. Barbara is also survived by five grandchildren, Ashleigh Langheim, Lauren Hunt, Andrew Klas, Kimberly Klas and Aericka O'Neal, three great grandchildren, Madelyn Langheim, Walter Kenneth Hunt, V and Grace Langheim, as well as a sister, Dorothy O. Williams.

One of three children, Barbara grew up in New Hill, N.C. on a farm learning the importance of hard work, responsibility, dedication and family love. She had a passion for playing bridge, spending time with family and friends, reading, meditating and always lending a listening ear. She inspired all by her quiet spirit and soft spoken words.

Our sweet mother was affectionately called "Bobbie" by her family and friends. Her grandchildren called her Grandma Bobbie or "GB", and the great grandchildren called her "GGB" which she loved.

The family would like to acknowledge her doctor, Dr. Jeffrey Huang, nurse Desiree and the staff of Blue Ridge Family Practice, as well as the staff of Transitions LifeCare for their compassion and loving care over the last months of Barbara's life.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, N.C. Visitation is at 1:00 pm with a service at 2:30 pm.
