Obituary of Barbara Overton
Barbara "Bebe" Glover Overton, 77, recently of Martin's Point, Kitty Hawk, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at North Carolina Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill.
Bebe was born on July 1, 1932, in Farmville, Virginia, the daughter of Edmund Carroll and Ruth Kersey Glover. Bebe earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1956. She practiced as a pharmacist for over 40 years, a majority of those years as proprietor of her own drug store in Kenbridge, Virginia. She is a member of the Duck Methodist Church of the Outer Banks. Bebe was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Lavell Overton.
She is survived by her son, Larry Carroll Overton, of Garner, NC; her brother, Edmund Carroll Glover III and wife, Jean, of Chapel Hill, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Cedars in Chapel Hill at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 2, 2010 with Peter Dubbleman of Apex Baptist Church presiding. A grave side service will also be held in Victoria Virginia at the Victoria Cemetery on Saturday May 15th at 12pm (tentative).
