Bernard D. Jones, 82, of Raleigh passed away on June 21, 2011. He was preceded in death by his son, Bernard Gerald Jones. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nellie Brooks Jones, granddaughter, Casey L. Hayes and husband, Shelton of Archer Lodge, one great-granddaughter, Victoria Hayes, one great-grandson, Ashton Hayes, sister, Marie Harvell of Wilmington, and lots of nieces and nephews from both the Jones side and Brooks side of the family. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Hayes Chapel Christian Church Food Pantry. Mr. Jones was loved by everyone that knew him and for someone to donate items to the church would be a continuous way to spread his love. Condolences may be made to the family at www.montlawn.com.
