Obituary of Bessie Widenhouse
Bessie J. Widenhouse
Mrs. Bessie Joyner Widenhouse, 90, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 27, 2009 in Glen Arm, Maryland.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Montlawn Funeral Home chapel. Inurnment will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Bessie and her late husband, M.L. Widenhouse were charter members of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh where she taught Sunday School and worked with young people.
Bessie is survived by her daughter, Ila Christenbury and her husband, Ted, of Kingsville, MD; her son, Donald Widenhouse of Raleigh; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; her brother, Tom Joyner of Rocky Mount and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Forest Hills Baptist Church, 201 Dixie Trail, Raleigh, NC 27607, the Raleigh Garden Club, or to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28201.
