Obituary of Betty Babcock
Mrs. Betty Evans Babcock, 69, died Tuesday at Wake Med in Cary after a valiant fight with cancer.
Betty was a retired employee with SAS. She believed in the power of love, forgiveness, reinvention and redemption. She knew how to bring people together and create family and she loved her family. Betty knew the value of people and was the cheerleader for so many who knew her. She could help you achieve more than you ever thought possible. Her life's adventure took her from North Carolina to Maine, Florida, Virginia and back home again to North Carolina. Betty lived life, found joy and created beauty. She was loved by so many and will be missed immensely.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Friday at the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Montlawn Memorial Park and Entombment will follow the service.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Babcock of Raleigh; sons, Mitchell Price of Carrboro, Tony Price and wife Joyce of Sumter, SC, Clinton Babcock and wife Jolinda of Winston Salem; daughters, Melissa Nance and partner Darby Morse of Fuquay Varina, Kris Damiel and husband Brian of Louisburg; niece, Tracy Evans Dunn of Burlington; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Eula Mae Baldwin and brothers, John B. "Buster" Evans, Jr. and Jack W. Evans.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm on Thursday at Montlawn Funeral Home.
