Obituary of Betty Curtis

Betty Murray Curtis

Mrs. Betty Murray Curtis, 76, of Apex, died Thursday morning at Rex Nursing Care Center of Apex after a long struggle with Alzheimers Disease. It was her faith in God that sustained her until Jesus called her home.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the home of Pamela and Edward Denmark, 1207 Rainesview Lane, Apex, NC 27502.

A native of Raleigh, Betty was the daughter of the late Alsey and Luna Edwards Murray. She was a wonderful, loving and devoted Wife and Mother and words cannot express how much we will miss her. Betty was a bookkeeper for Continental Bakery for a number of years as well as being a sales representative for Avon. Betty also gave back to others as a volunteer with "Meals On Wheels."

Betty is survived by her children, Leo Green Curtis of Pittsboro, Patricia Fay Curtis of Apex, Pamela C. Denmark and her husband Edward of Apex, Sheila Maye Curtis of Pittsboro; daughter in-law, Suzanne Curtis of Knightdale; grandchildren, Leo J. Curtis, Dylan Curtis, Julia Denmark, Curtis Denmark, Dawn Pine and Dusty Pine. Also surviving are her sisters, Louise Rizk and Shirley Glover and a sister in-law, Jo Ellen Murray.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Curtis; son, Hugh Curtis, Jr. and her brother, Bobby Murray.

The Curtis family deeply appreciates the dedicated care given by the staff of Woodland Terrace, Rex Nursing Care Center and Hospice of Wake County.
