Mrs. Betty B. Ferrell, 84, of Raleigh, NC passed peacefully on January 29, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on November 29, 1931 in Wake County, North Carolina to Bevie and Josie Barber. She was married to Lewis Ferrell for 65 years. Betty was a homemaker, loved to cook and care for her beloved husband. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Lewis; two brothers, Rufus Barber and C. Thomas Barber; two sisters, Kathleen B. Taylor and Dixie B. Cahall. Betty is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Ferrell Adams and Cindy Ferrell Johnson (Bob); four grandchildren, Meredith Olski (Robert), Carla Nance (Bobby), Heather Johnson and Matthew Johnson (Lhoris); five great grandchildren, Sam and Zoe Olski, Jackson Nance, William and Michael Johnson; sister, Robbie B. McSwain; sister-in-law, Doris Ferrell and long time friend, Etherlene Maddry. Family will receive friends on February 2, 2016 from 10-11 AM at Montlawn Funeral Home 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh. A graveside service will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Westminster Presbyterian Church 301 E. Whitaker Mill Road Raleigh, NC 27608.
