Obituary of Betty Rasmussen

Betty Ruth Rasmussen, 79, of Fuquay-Varina, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 28, 2012 at Hospice of Wake County.

A private Memorial Service will be held for family, to be announced at a later date.

Born December 1, 1932 in Oyer, MO, Betty was the daughter of the late Thomas Simpson and Sarah Davis Simpson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Rory Vernon Johnson; three brothers, Volney Simpson, Albert Simpson, and Melvin Simpson; and two sisters, Maybelle Thomas and Goldie Richardson.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 53 wonderful years, Richard D. "Ras" Rasmussen; a son, Dustin Johnson and wife Chris of Winston Salem; stepson, James Arthur Rasmussen of Santa Fe, NM; daughters, Sherry Baker and husband D.W. of Easley, SC, Donna Rasmussen and husband Maher Alsarhan of Raleigh, and Candia Rasmussen and husband John French of Raleigh; step-daughter, Debra Riner and husband Greg of Coats, NC; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
