Robert "Bob" John Simpson, age 86, of Raleigh died Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, NC.

Mr. Simpson was born on September 10, 1934 in Clintondale, NY, the son of William H. and Hilda (Damms) Simpson, Sr. He married Jeanne D. Prichard September 24, 1966 at St. Joseph's Church, New Paltz, NY. Mrs. Simpson survives at home.

He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve and active in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1960 as a Seabee at Guantanamo Bay and served on the USS New Jersey.

He retired after 35-years of service, from IBM in RTP, NC as a Security Analyst.  Bob was a Locksmith committed to helping people when needed.

He is currently a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Raleigh.  Bob was a thirty plus year member of ALOA (Associated Locksmiths of America).

Loving husband, father and grandfather, and anyone he met, he made them feel happy and special.

He loves locksmithing, gardening, loved being in his carpenter's shop and creating items for his family and repairing items.

Robert was predeceased by his parents W. Howard Simpson, Sr. and Hilda Simpson, of New Paltz, NY; by his brother W. Howard Simpson, Jr. of New Paltz, NY.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife: Jeanne D. (Prichard) Simpson; son, Bryan J. Simpson of Apex, NC; son, Eric W. Simpson of Cary, NC; one sister, Elizabeth Bonatti of Rock Hill, SC; granddaughter, Courtney Simpson, of Apex, NC; granddaughter, Monica Simpson of Apex, NC; grandson, Nathan Simpson of Cary, NC; grandson, Drew Simpson of Cary, NC; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Friday, July 16, at Noon at Montlawn Memorial Park, Funeral Home 2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603, where a service of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
