Boyd Watson Holder, Jr, age 55, of Kingsport, TN passed away peacefully on August 19,2026 at his residence. He was born on September 15, 1970, in Raleigh, NC, to Boyd and Nancy Holder. He was united in marriage to Sharon Copas Holder, on February 10, 1996. Together they shared 29 years of marriage and two beautiful kids. He was a loving son, husband, father and friend. He will be remembered for his love for cars, boats, deep sea fishing, Southern Gospel Music, singing, playing the piano/organ, preaching and a huge fan of The University of Tennessee Football Team (GO BIG ORANGE). He was a man of faith who loved the Lord and served as Associate Pastor of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church in Apex, N.C.; Senior Pastor of State Line Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN and currently the Senior Pastor of Victory Apostolic Church in Kingsport, T.N. He especially loved his congregation.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Copas Holder, Son Thomas Ashton Holder: Katie: Daughter Vestal Olivia Holder; His Parents: Boyd and Nancy Holder; and numerous other family members and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents: Johnny and Florine Holder, Daniel and Virginia Harris, and Uncle Doug Harris.
He was very proud of his family that invested 10 years caring for him during his T-cell Lymphoma Diagnosis, Chemotherapy, Radiation and Stem-cell Transplant Journey. He was especially proud of Tommy for donating his cells so his life could be extended, Vestal for her 24-hour care giving during his stem-cell transplant and his wife, parents, and congregation who stood by him through each stage of cancer and treatment. The Family would like to thank his medical staff and especially Elizabeth Ergen, MD at Dermatology Associates University of Tennessee Knoxville, TN; and Chitra Hosing, MD at Department of Stem Cell Transplantation MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston TX for their outstanding care during his Cancer Journey.
