IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Burt Franklin
Peoples
July 19, 1947 – August 20, 2021
Burt Franklin Peoples "Frank", age 74, passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2021 at the SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House, after a long and arduous battle with cancer. He was the widower of Jo Ann Baker Peoples, with whom he married in 1983 and shared 32 years of loving marriage. Frank's early life began in Norfolk, Virginia where he served in the United States Navy for six years. Afterwards, he relocated his home to Raleigh, North Carolina where he went on to earn his black belt in karate and earn dual degrees from his alma mater, North Carolina State University, which prepared him for his career as an electrical engineer. Frank was a loyal, dependable and diligent employee who valued his career. His supervisor said he "was worth his weight in gold". Frank was a man of faith who was described as having a "pure heart and soul". He always put the needs of others before his own, which was evident in his ongoing, never wavering, selfless devotion towards friends and family. Frank loved coaching and playing soccer, dancing to beach music with Jo Ann, visiting with his life-long friends, Naoki and Motoko, and telling corny jokes to anyone who would listen. Frank is survived by his son Danny, Melissa (spouse), daughter Jennifer, William (spouse), grandchildren River, Utah and JC, his mother Mary Toney and three brothers Oden, James and Francis. We will be remembering and honoring Frank's life at two o'clock on Wednesday, August 25. A graveside service for the family will be held at Montlawn Memorial Park located at 2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, North Carolina. In remembrance of Frank's life, Memorial donations may be made in Burt's name to the V Foundation for Cancer Research at v.org or mailed to 14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC 27513.
