Mrs. Carolyn L. Davis, 90 of Fayetteville, NC passed away January 29, 2016 at Sandy Ridge Memory Care in Candor, NC. She was born March 29, 1925 to Alexander and Katherine Lewis in Galavants Ferry, SC. Carolyn was married to Theus Davis in 1942 until his passing in 1976. After raising five children, Carolyn became a real estate agent. Because she was a military wife for so many years, she really enjoyed helping young military families find a new home. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Theus and daughter, Vickie Davis Powell. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Davis of Browns Mills, NJ and David Davis of Winston Salem, NC; daughters Carol Nixon of Mount Laural, NJ and Jenny Davis Freeman of Fayetteville, NC; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A viewing will begin at 9:30 am with a service following at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Montlawn Funeral Home 2911 S. Wilmington St. Raleigh, NC. She will be laid to rest with her husband at The Raleigh National Cemetery, Raleigh, NC. The family would like to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff at Sandy Ridge Memory Care in Candor, NC.
