Pompano Beach FL- Formally of GARNER

Catherine Williams Jones, age 94, of Pompano Beach, Florida, previously of Garner, NC, passed away on May 27, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie Cleveland Williams and Nellie Wilder Williams, her husband of 49 years William Douglas Jones of Cary, NC, daughter Barbara Jones Shilts of Katy, TX and nine siblings, Virginia W. Currin, Mae W. Holliday, Herbert C. Williams, Winfred B. Williams (Winnie), Susie W. Goodwin, Hazzie B. Williams, Peggy W. Adams Nipper Howard, Louise W. McClaid and Charles A. Williams.

Catherine was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star Pompano Chapter 187 Pompano Beach for 66 years serving as secretary for over twenty years and Worthy Matron for one year.  She was also a member of First Baptist Church Pompano Beach for 60 years.

Catherine is survived by daughter Cathy Jones Willett and her husband Stephen of Denver, CO; son-in-law John Shilts of Katy, TX; son William Douglas Jones, Jr. and his wife Cindy of New Kensington, PA; grandchildren Robert and Anna Willett of Cypress, TX, Angie  and Adam Whitson of Sunrise, FL, Charlene and Joseph Harrison of Houston, TX, Danielle and Jon Stites of Timnath, CO, Rebecca Crosby of Katy, TX, nine great-grandchildren and brother-in-law Sherman McClaid.
