Cecil was the devoted grandfather of two grandsons, Wyatt and Oliver Jones, two granddaughters, Chloe Jones and Haley Nicholson as well as one great grandson Oden. He is also survived by two brothers, Ronald Edwin Jones (Glenda) and Willard Douglas Jones (Kay). Cecil was uncle to many nieces and nephews. Cecil was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lucy Margaret Jones (1996) and W.D. Jones (2006) and his dutiful sister, Janice Sue Jones (Bennett) in 2012. Cecil grew up in Raleigh N.C.
He graduated from Millbrook High School and North Carolina State University in Raleigh N.C. He enjoyed a career in Industrial Engineering and Energy Management working for organizations such as the United States Navy, Calibre Systems, Inc, General Dynamics, Sperry Rand Corporation, Northern Tele-Communications, and Carolina Power & Light as well as KTC Consulting-AZ. He was a highly respected professional in the energy field. Cecil was a member of the Association of Energy Engineers since 2005. Cecil put his heart into embracing the energy field and was always full of ideas for improvements in energy use and management. He was always willing to share these ideas and was requested to do so at many energy conferences. Cecil was certified in many energy fields. During his career he was recognized as Energy Manager of the Year and received letters of commendation from the Army and the mayor of Huntsville, Al. Sadly his work career was cut short by the complications of diabetes. Cecil will be missed personally as well as in the energy field.
He enjoyed talking about his grandkids, going on trips with his wife and a good meal. Most importantly, Cecil accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior as a teen. During the last years of his life he enjoyed talking about Jesus with others. We are very thankful that he is now with his
Lord.
