GARNER

Cecil Pearce, 87, died peacefully on June 13 ^th surrounded by his wife of over 65 years, Mary Jo.

Cecil was born March 2, 1934.  One of 8 brothers from Bunn, North Carolina, he was the only brother to move on to the big city of Raleigh and eventually settle in Garner.

Cecil served 4 years in the Army and later worked and retired from the Department of Corrections Central prison after 28 years of dedicated service.  His family will tell you he never missed a day of work.

He was best known in the community for his coaching and dedication to the Little League baseball program in Garner.

He was an avid fisherman, a passion he passed on to both his children and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son Shelton.  He is survived by his wife Mary Jo, his daughter Diane (Tommy), his son Rick (Moya), 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be at Montlawn Memorial Park, at the convenience of the family.
