Obituary of Charles Clapp
Charles Robert Clapp, 83, of Garner, passed away Tuesday morning, September 13, 2011 at Wake Medical Center- Cary, after a brief illness.
A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Montlawn Funeral Home following the graveside service.
Born May 31, 1928 in Bynum, NC he was the son of the late Charles Washington Clapp and Ada Pettigrew Clapp. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Savada Clapp.
Mr. Clapp was a retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He was a 22 year veteran, where he served in both the Korean and Vietnam War. He was given the honor of being awarded the Bronze Star, as well as many other Decorations. Charles will be remembered by his family as being a loving and devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Clapp of Garner; nephews, Richard Davis of Burlington, and Chris Ridley and family of Garner; Kim Pugh and family of Garner; sister-in-law, Milly Ridley and husband Ken of Garner.
