Obituary of Charles Rogers
Charles Nicholas Rogers, Jr. (Nick) died March 22, 2014, following an illness of several months.
Born in Hartsville, SC, July 31, 1942, he was the son of Charles N.
Rogers and Flora Kate Bethea.
He graduated from McKendree University, Lebanon,IL, and was retired from the US Postal Service and USAF Reserves.
Nick was an avid reader on a wide range of topics, a lively conversationalist, and a generous friend.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ellen Harden Rogers of Raleigh, NC; a sister, Flora Rogers Galloway (Tom) of Maitland, FL; a niece, Virginia Kate Gentles (Peter) of Toronto, Canada; a nephew, Richard Charles Galloway (Jennifer) of Arlington, VA; great-nieces, Elizabeth and Catherine Gentles of Toronto, Canada, as well as a number of cousins.
There are no local services planned. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Rogers Family Cemetery in SC.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
