IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christine Elizabeth
King
February 14, 1927 – May 22, 2023
Christine Elizabeth Parrish King, 96, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love and presence of her family, on Monday, May 22, 2023.
Born on February 14, 1927, in Johnston County, daughter of the late B. Harvey and Mabel Stephenson Parrish, Christine spent her life being celebrated as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Her entire life, Christine loved being outside. For decades, she found joy growing and sharing vegetables and flowers from her lovingly-tended home garden in Garner. Later in life, as a resident of The Cypress in Raleigh, she shone in making new friends from all walks of life and found much peace and pleasure observing the birds enjoy her birdbath and feeder from her porch.
Christine is survived by many who carry her light and memory forward: Daughters Deborah Mangum (Ron) of Pine Knoll Shores, Carolyn Williamson (Larry) of Atlantic Beach; son Tim King (Mariam) of Raleigh; sister, Eloise P. Clifton of Benson; daughter-in-law Anna King of Raleigh; grandchildren, Katie Mangum Smith (Scott), Anna Mangum, Sarah King, and Olivia King; step grandchildren, Damon Williamson and Kate W. Kaplan (John), and step great-grandchild, Edison Kaplan.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charlie King Jr, and husband, Charles King.
