Obituary of Clarence Strickland

Clarence Drewery Strickland, 78, died Monday, August 31, 2009 at his home.

Funeral Service will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2009 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 11:00 am prior to the service.

Mr. Strickland retired from Dillard Paper Company with over 30 years of service and was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Clarence is survived by his sons, Clarence D. Strickland, Jr., John W. Strickland, Michael A. Strickland and Jody D. Strickland; daughters, Rebecca S. Taylor and Shelby J. Gardner; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by five sisters and was preceded in death by a brother.

Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Rebecca E. Strickland in 2007.
