Obituary

RALEIGH

Claudio Maria Janni & Arleen Francis Janni, passed away in their home in Raleigh, NC...  The cause of death and date are yet to be determined.  Claudio was born on January 6 th , 1940 in Rome, Italy and Arleen Janni was born on July 7 th , 1942 in Queens, New York.

Claudio grew up in Rome, Italy and attending school there, followed by a two-year military service where he was stationed in Sienna, Italy.  After he attended the service Claudio went back to Rome where he worked at Aganzi Italia.

Arleen grew up in Queens, NY where she attended school.  After high school she became a flight attendant for Braniff airlines which is how Arleen met Claudio.

Claudio and Arleen were married on January 1 st , 1965.  They were married for 56 years, just shy of 57 years.  Many would call it a romantic story or even a fairytale on how they met.  Arleen flew to Rome for work and met Claudio on the Spanish Steps in Rome.  They corresponded by mail for over a year before getting married in Italy.  After being wed, they moved back to New York where their lives and family started.

Claudio was a gifted artist and his first job in America was designing boots Lucchese Boots. Claudio had a successful career at Lucchese, but went onto designing boots for Wrangler, Justin, Pan Handle Slim, Tony Lama, Nocona and Dan Post.  When Claudio retired, he was inducted into the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma for his work and dedication in the Western Industry. In Claudio's free time, he enjoyed oil painting and playing golf.

Arleen followed her father's footsteps and worked in the banking industry her whole life. Arleen also created a successful career for herself in loans and mortgages.   Arleen retired from Frost Bank in Arlington, Texas.  In Arleen's free time, she enjoyed reading, cooking and family.

Both Claudio and Arleen loved to cook and enjoy fine wine with family around the table for hours.  They loved to travel any chance they could.

Claudio is survived by his two brothers and sister in Italy and his daughter (Claudeen), son (Marc) and by his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Camryn, Adrian, Alexander, Spencer and Blake.

Arleen is survived by her daughter (Claudeen), son (Marc) and by and by her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Camryn, Adrian, Alexander, Spencer and Blake.

You will both be missed dearly!  We love you both!

The family will have a Memorial Service with date to be determined.
