Obituary of Cleo Mason
Cleo B. Mason, 95, of Raleigh and formerly a longtime resident of North King Charles Road, stepped through Heaven's Gate on Sunday, December 27, 2009.
Cleo was a resident of the City of Oaks Health and Rehab Center since 2004. Born August 12, 1914 in Wake County, he was the son of Adolphus Henry "D.H." Mason and Vallie Haire Mason. Cleo was retired from Clancy and Theys Construction Company and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sarah Partin Mason; daughter, Jean E. Mason; brothers, Dan, Joe, Lewis, and Virgil Mason, all of North Carolina; Billy and Edward Mason of Virginia; sisters, Lucille Smith of North Carolina, Maggie Duke of Florida and Mary Lee Dawson of Maryland.
Cleo is survived by his son, Bennie Ray Mason of Wendell; daughters, Doris Johnson (Tom) of Pleasant Garden, Janet Lee (Carnell) of Wendell, Brenda Weatherford (Chad) of Wake Forest, Teresa Williams (Dean) of Houston, TX; sister, Lillian Creech (Ivan) of Virginia; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and recognition of Inez, Termaine, Shirley, Tosha and Linda as well as Clyde at the City of Oaks Health and Rehab Center for the love and care they gave to Cleo during his stay at the City of Oaks.
Funeral Service will be 12 Noon Wednesday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.- 12 Noon Wednesday at Montlawn Funeral Home.
