WILLOW SPRINGS

Claude Washington (CW) Hargis passed away peacefully on July 26, 2020 at Rex Hospital. He was born on July 3, 1942 to the late Claude and Edith Hargis.

CW is survived by beloved his wife of 56 years, Reverend Della Grace, his son, Lee Hargis, and daughter-in-law, Scarlett, all of Garner; his grandsons, Garrett Hargis and his wife, Emily, of Kingston, Washington, Jordan Hargis and his wife, Logan, of Garner, Landon Hargis and his fiance, Samantha Harris, of Garner; his great grandchild, Madilyn Grace. In addition to his family he leaves his church family, countless close friends and extended family to carry on his memory.

Hargis retired from Duke Energy and enjoyed his time on the family farm. He loved animals of all kinds, but his grandchildren were his heart and his pride and joy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church (Four Oaks Advent Christian Church, PO BOx 598, Four Oaks North Carolina 27524) he loved and in which he served as deacon for many years.

A funeral service will held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 2911 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 12 noon until 1:00 pm. A graveside will be held immediately following the service at Montlawn Memorial Park.
