Obituary of Darwin Coburn

Darwin Lafayette Coburn, 86, of Raleigh died Friday morning, July 31, 2009 at the Springmoor Stewart Health Center in Raleigh.

Funeral Service will be 3 p.m. Monday in the Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-3 p.m. Monday prior to the service.

A native of Martin County, Mr. Coburn was a graduate of North Carolina State University and retired as a civil engineer with the State of North Carolina. He was a longtime member of Hillyer Memorial Christian Church and served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Coburn is survived by his daughters and sons in-law, Joy C. and Johnny Adams of Colorado; Lynelle C. and Russell Perry of Raleigh; and Lynn C. and Calvin Biggers of Wade; brother, Leland Bradley Coburn of Utah; three grandchildren, David C. Adams and his wife Kristin, Jessica Tew, Shelley Smith and her husband Cassidy and three great grandchildren, Christian Tew, Gavin Pagen and Haley Smith.
