David Mertz, 70, of Cary died July 3, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Edith.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria, sons Craig and Derrick, and daughter-in-law, Christine.
Donations to the David Mertz History Scholarship should be made to Heidelberg University, 310 East Market St., Tiffin, OH 44883.
A private service will be held in Vermilion, OH.
