David Wayne Telford, 61, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 23. He is survived by his beloved wife Debby of 25 years, his stepson Josh Lambeth of Garner NC, and his older brother John Telford of Kinston NC. He was born in Wilson NC to John Robert Telford and Betty Jane Ledford Telford. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jerry "J.T." Telford.
David was known to many as "Smokey" and he was best known for his excellent BBQ skills with which he loved to cook for family and friends. He was an avid Pittsburg Steeler fan and follower of NASCAR racing.
The family will receive friends at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC 27603 from 1-2 pm on Saturday, August 27. The funeral service will be held from 2-3 pm at the same location.
