Delores Lee Lane, 81, passed away on November 14, 2023 at Cape Fear Valley Health Care following a short illness. She was born March 15, 1942 in Dunn, NC to the late Robbie and Iva Stancil Lee.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Lane and John Watkins and son, Thomas Lee Watkins.

Delores worked for the State of North Carolina for over 30 years with the majority of her career working for the Governor Morehead School. She was a dedicated mom and grandma who loved the Lord. She was a member of Lee's Grove Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church. Delores served the Lord in her retirement years by ministering to those in rest homes in the Wilmington and Burgaw area.   She loved cooking, puttering around in her garden, listening to gospel sings and spending time with her granddaughter.

She is survived by her sister, Blondell Barnes; daughter in law Debbie Tant; granddaughter, Autumn Watkins; nephew Ronnie Barnes (Donna) and niece Cindy McLamb (Marshal).

A service celebrating and remembering Delores will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Montlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, 2911 S. Wilmington St, Raleigh, followed by visitation with the family.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of Delores, the family asks that contributions be made to the Southern Nash Marching Firebirds, 6446 Southern Nash High Rd., Bailey, NC  27807.
