Obituary of Dewey Wood

Dewey Warren Wood born September 2, 1922 to Millard and Ethel Wood of Wake County, NC passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Transitions Lifecare in Raleigh. He is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Grace Elizabeth Council Wood; his parents and siblings; sister Dorothy Yates and brother Eugene Wood.

Dewey was a member of the Greatest Generation and a Naval Veteran of WWII. Dewey is survived by his children; Dewey W. Wood, Jr., Robert A. Wood, Essie W. White and a brother Jarvis O. Wood; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends and family at Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 Wilmington St in Raleigh, NC Tuesday, February 10, 1-2 pm. A funeral service will follow; interment will be at the mausoleum with military honors.
