Obituary of Dixie Sutherland

Dixie Edwards Sutherland, 77, died Tuesday. She was a native of Spring Hope and attended Elon College and Campbell College where she sang in the choir. She retired from Wake County Public Schools after 22 years with child nutrition.

Surviving are her husband of 46 years, George G. Sutherland; daughter, Mary Gina Darnell and husband Dean of Angier; son, Kyle E. Sutherland and wife Angela of Wake Forest; 4 grandchildren; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Funeral services will be held 3 pm Sunday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-3 pm on Sunday prior to the service.
