Dominick Yodice, 84 passed on to be with Jesus suddenly on Tuesday January 5, 2021. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, graduating High School early and going off to college to become an Electrical Engineer. He moved to Long Island to raise his family, relocated for a short time to Maryland then off to Florida for several years. He recently moved to Fuquay Varina, NC downsizing to an apartment to be closer to family and not alone. His parents were Frank Yodice & Concetta (Connie) Spezzano Yodice who are now deceased. He's survived by his oldest sister Millie Tusay, brother-in-law Mike Tusay and sister Grace Salmieri. He was faithfully married to Palma Yodice for 39 years until her passing on April 10, 1995 after a 2 year battle with Lung Cancer. He had 3 daughters; the oldest, Karen Ann Oppedisano married to Rocco Oppedisano; now deceased, Barbara Jean Bernius and his baby Donna Marie Burghardt Walton married to Scott J Walton. He had 2 grandchildren; his oldest Alexandra (Alie) Burghardt 23, and youngest, Nicholas (Nick) Burghardt, 20. He also had a great-grandfurbaby in 2-year-old Stella the Golden Retreiver owned by Alie & her boyfriend Nathan. He met and enjoyed watching Donna & Scott's 8-month-old furbaby Goldendoodle Phoebe grow up and played with them both making him smile so big. I know it always reminded him of younger days when he would play with our family furbaby Shadow who was a black lab/shepherd and HIS dog He attended church everywhere he lived but recently in North Carolina he enjoyed, and was blessed to attend and be a member of Evangel Church lead by Pastor Mark Fenn of Fuquay Varina. He felt welcomed and part of the family and enjoyed all the people of his congregation. Even through COVID times he made it a point to dress to impress every Sunday and sit in his end seat ready to pray and receive.
He was a Godly man and a very intelligent man of very few words. He enjoyed talking about Jesus and the Bible, stories of the past and his career. He loved baseball and always shared his memorabilia he had collected over the years. The Brooklyn Dodgers and the Mets were his teams. He also enjoyed watching his WWE Wrestling It was pure entertainment for him. Dominick loved food and especially desserts. If it was a buffet he got his moneys worth and there was always room for dessert, especially Cherry Pie, Ice Cream and/or chocolate covered cherries.
He longed to be in Heaven with his Wife Pam and middle daughter Barbara so we KNOW that he is dancing and laughing with them and all who have gone before walking on streets of gold and waiting for us all to join them when its our time. He is at peace now, no more pain in his hip, and no longer alone. Rest in Peace Dominick (Dad) … we will see you again! "Love You Bye Bye"
