Obituary

Donald Frank Mills of Garner, NC passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 30, 2016 at Transitions Hospice of Wake County. He lived in the Raleigh area for 45 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a Chief Petty Officer in the Philippines. Don was a member of Cleveland Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Clayton, NC. Don was very creative and loved to spend his leisure "inventing" new ideas and is fondly remembered building a boat.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores Lopez Mills of 64 years; son Ron Mills Sr. (Diane), daughters, Jeannine Creech (Anthony); Laura Davis; Charmaine Schultz; and his beloved grandchildren, Amy Staton, Jeremy Creech, Ronald Mills Jr., Julie Galloway, Stephanie Creech, Melanie Rodriguez, and Trey Davis. He is preceded in death by son Donald Mills and sister Frances Newman.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Transitions Hospice and Rex Hospital staff for their outstanding care, especially Bob Kozec, RN for his exceptional care of Don.

A private family service will be held at Montlawn Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held for family and friends at a later date.
