Died August 16, 2020 after a long battle with Cancer. Age 76

Donald Wayne Widenhouse was born in Raleigh, NC on April 10th, 1944 to Bessie Widenhouse and M.L. Widenhouse. Don grew up in Raleigh where he graduated from NC State University where he played trumpet in the band. He was in an artillery unit in the US army, worked as a teacher, sold Insurance, and worked at RDU Airport.

He was married for 10 years to Kathy Widenhouse. He is survived by one son, Jody Widenhouse and his wife, Carol Widenhouse and grandsons Jude and Calvin Widenhouse of Austin, Texas, brother in law, Ted Christenbury of Kingsville Maryland and nieces Donna Pennewill and Cindy Scola and nephews Ken and Steve Christenbury. He is preceded in death by his sister Ila Jean Christenbury of Kingsville Maryland and his parents.

Don loved computers, barbershop music (any chance to sing really), and reading. He had a best friend, Steve Wolfe, who inspired him to visit the Grand Tetons.
