Obituary of Doris Bradsher

Doris Blackwell Bradsher of Raleigh, NC, died peacefully on March 26, 2011, at Springmoor Retirement Center following a long illness. She was born in Granville County, to the late Charlie and Bertie Blackwell.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Louis Bradsher and two brothers, Leslie and Elbert Blackwell. She is survived by her daughters Susan Bradsher Liles (Skip), Ann Bradsher Hodges (Milton), her son, Robert Louis Bradsher, Jr. (Vera); grandchildren, Richard Liles (Laura) and Michael Liles; Lauren Hodges; Shelly Bradsher Bell (Jeremy), Lori Bradsher Hundley (Craig), and Scott Bradsher (Danielle) and six great grandchildren.

Surviving siblings include, Janie Harris, Elwood Blackwell, Lena Brownd, AJ Blackwell (Norma), Marie Lewis (Bill), sister in-law, Minnie Bradsher Dean, nieces, nephews as well as special friends and caregivers, Elizabeth Wilkins, Carolyn Harper and Myrtle Hall along with the Springmoor staff.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at New Hope Baptist Church, 6301 Louisburg Road, Raleigh, NC 27604 following a visitation in the Narthex of the church from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Montlawn Memorial Park following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church or the Doris B. and Robert L. Bradsher Divinity Scholarship at Campbell University, Post Office Drawer 4050, Buies Creek, NC 27506.
