It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Doris Allen Ross on March 14, 2022 in Houston, TX.  Doris was born in Wake Forest, NC to Luther Hillman and Mary Davis Allen on September 2, 1923.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, brother John Sidney Allen and her husband William Kenneth Ross Jr.  She is survived by her son Roger Dale Ross, grandsons and daughter-in-law Michael Allen and Besse Ross of Lakeville, CT, David Jason Ross of Riverside, CT and seven great-grandchildren whom she adored; Jenson Shepard, Dashiell William, Thayer Hux , Annabel Elizabeth, Graydon Reed, Eliza Margaret and Stuart Lila Ross.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wen Yang for the outstanding care she provided to Doris over the final years of her life. Thanks is also due to caregivers Linda Dervis , Patsy Miller and Maria A guilar for their physical and spiritual encouragement during Doris's final years.  The family is also appreciative of the many cards, calls, visits but mostly the prayers that were lifted up on her behalf.

Doris was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Raleigh, NC.  Her faith in God and courage never wavered during her final time on earth.  Her faith and convictions were an inspiration to all who knew her.

A family visitation is scheduled on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Montlawn Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 979-772-1973, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC at 10:00 a.m. with a gravesite service to follow at 11:00 a.m. T he family will host a luncheon at the chapel from Noon to 2:00 p.m.  The Reverends Lacy Fry and David Fry will be officiating the service.
