Obituary of Dorothy McLamb

Dorothy Driver McLamb, 75, of Raleigh, died Tuesday morning, October 5, 2010 at her home.

Funeral Service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 - 9 p.m. Thursday.

A native of Franklin County, Dorothy was born May 23, 1935, the daughter of the late Zollie and Minnie Powell Driver. She retired from the Coca-Cola Bottling Company with 40 years of service and then worked 10 years for her family business, MTM Transportation. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and her family always came first in her life.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Sherwood McLamb; children, Steve Tant and his wife Rose of Raleigh, Tony Tant and his wife Donna H. Tant of Garner, Aubrey Tant and his wife Donna J. Tant of Raleigh, Joanie Reed and her husband John of Raleigh; grandchildren, Christy Ray, Steven Tant, Amy Moss, Tyler Tant, Brandon Tant, Amber Reed; six great grandchildren and a sister, Lucy Gray. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Russell Driver and J.D. Driver and a sister, Annie Bell.
